New depot in Maidstone as expansion across the south continues

City Traffic Management continues to make waves in the south of England with the opening of its new HUB in Maidstone, Kent.

The City TM operational model sees its HUB’s feed its depots in any given area. Maidstone is City’s newest HUB and will further support its depots and teams already up and running across Kent. Born out of necessity to service its ever-growing client base in the South-East, City now puts down footprints in a third county by opening this Maidstone HUB to feed the ever growing number of depots across London and the South-East

Amazingly, it was only in 2018 that City Traffic Management transformed itself from being one of the UK’s most prominent highways training providers, to becoming one of the leading traffic management contractors in the south of England, all whilst continuing to deliver the high-quality training the company became known for.

With more, and larger contracts being awarded to City within Kent and surrounding counties, a second HUB was required to best service the work the company is undertaking, in addition to requiring more space to house the ever-increasing number of vehicles and amount of equipment required to carry out the company’s contracted works.

The Maidstone HUB will begin with 8 staff, with plans to increase this number to 50 throughout 2023. That recruitment drive is well underway.

The HUB and its workforce will now service both high and low speed works across Kent, East Sussex, Essex and Surrey predominantly. They will also assist City TM’s South London Operations

The company also plans to run 12C works out of this depot following its recent accreditation to deliver 12C traffic management work.

City TM Managing Director Mat Field said:

“Further expansion in Kent is fantastic, as it means our clients believe in our service, and we’re making a real impression when it comes to contracts being awarded. The size of some of the contracts City is now delivering meant that we needed additional space and having a second HUB based in Kent can only help us deliver the works in the areas we service more efficiently.

“We now have a stronger presence across the south of England with our operational HUB’s feeding our regional depots, and it cements our position as a leading traffic management provider in the South.”
